Khenpo Lhakpa Yeshe: The Mahamudra Prayer – Teachings and Meditation.
Khenpo Lhakpa Yeshe is one of the Khenpos at the Benchen Nangten Thosam Ling shedra in Pharping, Nepal.
Khenpo Lhakpa Yeshe was born in 1992 in the Nubri Valley in north-central Nepal. In 2001, he took the Refuge Vows from Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche and became a monk at Benchen Monastery in Kathmandu, where he studied reading, writing, and various rituals of the Karma Kagyu tradition.
In 2007, he received full monastic ordination from Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche. He then began his formal studies in Buddhist philosophy, logic, and Dharma teachings in the shedra in Pharping under the guidance of Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche. After over 10 years of intensive study, in January 2018, he became a Khenpo and has been teaching at the Shedra since. This will be his first visit to Europe.
The Mahamudra Prayer, composed by the 3rd Karmapa, is one of the most important texts in the Karma Kagyu tradition. It is used both for recitation and contemplation, as well as a foundation for teaching the view and practice of Mahamudra, which lies at the very heart of our tradition. Khenpo will explain the general teachings on the view, meditation, and conduct in accordance with Mahamudra, as well as give an introduction to Mahamudra meditation.
