In August 2022, a remarkable event took place at the summit of the Temple of the Clouds of Blessings in Grabnik—the installation and consecration of the sertok.
The sertok (from Tibetan: “golden spike” or “golden pinnacle”) is an ornamental, metal structure made of copper or bronze, often gilded. Its placement atop the building is no coincidence—it represents the symbolic crowning of the temple, connecting it to the architectural tradition of Buddhism and standing as one of the temple’s most important decorative elements.
Its shape holds deep significance. The structure, from base to peak, is composed of five successive forms, each symbolizing the Buddhas of the Five Families: the bell, the vase, the lotus, the wheel, and the jewel. It also represents ultimate wisdom. In keeping with tradition, the sertok’s interior was filled with prepared mantras and relics before installation.
The consecration ceremony was led by Lama Rinchen, and the entire process of installing and consecrating the sertok in Grabnik was a event that would not have been possible without the dedication of many people. Thanks to the hard work and support of numerous helpers, preparations for the ceremony went smoothly, and the sertok was installed according to tradition. This new adornment has not only enriched the appearance of the temple but has also become a symbol of its completion.
